Medipal 3in1 uses a new, high specification combination chemistry, effectively blending two disinfectant compounds, DDAC and Triamine, to produce a highly efficacious, broad spectrum disinfectant effective against spores.
Quaternary Ammonium Compounds (Quats) are effective and widely used disinfectants. They kill microorganisms by causing disruption of intermolecular interactions and dissociation of lipid bilayers. The 4th generation, Didecyl-dimethylammonium chloride (DDAC) chloride has been developed to give improved biocidal activity, stronger detergency and a lower level of toxicity compared to the previous three generations.
Triamine is a compound containing three amino groups (N-(3-Aminopropyl)-N-dodecylpropane-1,3-diamine) acting as a cell disruptor. It is effective against both gram positive and gram negative bacteria as well as enveloped viruses such as Hepatitis-B (HBV). It is a low toxicity, non-tainting and non-corrosive compound combining both detergent and disinfectant properties.
